Luis Miguel Ramis: "I see the team is ready; we have worked, and it's eager to show it"

Osasuna's head coach previewed the team’s match against Real Betis

Osasuna head coach Luis Miguel Ramis addressed the media ahead of Sunday’s away match against Real Betis. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CET (5:30 p.m. BST, 12:30 p.m. ET). During the press conference, Ramis discussed the team’s work during the international break, the game plan and facing Real Betis.

"I have noticed the team is ready; we have trained well. These two weeks have been good—intense. We have gotten close to what we wanted, and I am happy with it. Now, we have to put it on the field. Every game brings competition and emotion, technical skill, tactics, intensity, focus and concentration. Training sessions don’t have all those factors, so we need to add them. Yet I see the team ready; we have worked, and I see them eager to show everything we have worked on throughout the week. Tomorrow is a good opportunity," Ramis said.

Ramis was asked what he wants to see from his team and highlighted the intensity the players have shown in training over the past few weeks.

"I want to see a high-level team, to see what we have been working on during these weeks. I want to improve situations where we have been punished, not make mistakes or make as few as possible. I want to see the team be fluid with the ball and take care of all the little details. That’s what I want to see," Ramis said.

When asked about Real Betis’ strengths, Ramis discussed the strong structure they have shown and the danger posed by their individual talent.

"It will be a tough match. The opponent’s structure and intent don’t change much. Then, you add the individual talent that helps them throughout the match and fixes collective mistakes," Ramis said.

Ramis also spoke about his tactical approach for the team.

"As usual, it is a match where we have to do things well and play a complete game. We have to be dangerous with the ball because I think we can hurt them, but we also have to play good defense because they go as a unit and rely on individual talent. We can counter that by pressing well. We need to be organized, have good defensive references, be aggressive and focus on everything the opponent will propose," Ramis said.
